Since 1995 Hugh Jart has been permanently capturing public input & creativity on huge canvas painting screens

Public Paintings are a great activity for any size or type of event. From our 5 Star Service for large events & festivals (using our massive screens) to small & private events such as birthday parties, weddings & special occasions etc (using our smaller screens - easily hung / displayed during / after event).

Paint & Painter management is always carried out & run in a controlled & orderly way by experienced Hugh Jarters. Painting themes & rules depend on each event & the organiser's wishes -we can do 'Just for Fun' projects through to 'Structured Worshops'. We make the whole experience enjoyable, fun & memorable - as well as producing a masterpiece on canvas which can be displayed & used indefinitely.

HJ 5 Star Service Painting Screen

PACKAGE INCLUDES:-

IN ADVANCE - background design work, canvas preparation & background painting.
Usually completed in our workshops before the event so we arrive with something to show & be ready to go.
Alternatively for events which allow more set up time - the background can be painted by HJ artists on site as part of the show.

AT THE EVENT - we supply all equipment, materials and enough staff to keep things under control.

THE SET UP:-
The Painting Screen - Rather like a large advertising bill board only covered with a prepared canvas (common large screen size is 36' by 6 or 8'). Next to the Painting Screen we position the 'Paint Bar' (booth,trailer or gazebo) this is where the paint & equipment is managed. The whole pitch is divided with barriers into different areas, ie - Outside Queuing Area, Paint Distribution Area (Paint Bar), Painting Area & of course the Viewing Area. Minimum Pitch Size required for common large screen size would be 50' (frontage) by 16'(depth). At large camping multi day events it is recommended that we camp with our equipment (back-screen) although not essential.

Another way to ensure a good result is to run two screens - one each side of the Paint Bar:-
One for structured & controlled public input &
One 'just for fun' screen - for practice / children / graffiti etc - which wouldn't be as strictly supervised.

HJ CREW
To run the activity & produce a fantastic painting with the general public we have an experienced and capable crew:-

Front of Screen Manager - To meet & greet (operates the gate in/out). Keeps the queue in a neat & straight line, makes sure everyone is happy & keeps everything flowing safely, smoothly & successfully.

Paint Bar Manager & Crew - to supervise paint management & distribution & to chat & discuss painting plans & colours etc with the eager queue. Also to keep on top of the constant job of washing up pallets & brushes etc.

Front of Screen Artists - To paint with the public. To help and advise painters with their paintings.

HJ ART POLICE - to keep an eye on what people are painting (sticking to the days painting rules / laws) & making sure painters are painting safely when on steps / ladders etc & to keep an eye on any unruly / over zealous festival goers.
